Sage and Onion Stuffing |
Ingredients: 2 Large Onions, chopped 25g/1oz Butter 100g/4oz Fresh White Breadcrumbs 2 level teaspoons Dried Sage Salt and Pepper |
Method: | |
1. | Place the onions in a pan of cold water. Bring to the boil then cook for 10 minutes, until tender. Drain well. |
2. | Place all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly. |
3. | Grease a dish suitable for the oven with butter or oil. Fill with mixture and cook for 30 minutes at 220C/425F or Gas mark 7. (I'm not sure what units are used on German/Austrian ovens!) Alternatively, you can roll the mixture into small balls, cook and serve the balls of stuffing on the side. It's traditionally served with chicken, pork or turkey. |
